Sewing Camp with Ms. Heather teaches you BEGINNER Machine sewing skills. We have machines in the studio for your use, but if you own a machine, PLEASE bring that one to use during the week so you can learn on your own machine.

Monday - INTRO to your Machine class for true beginners. Those that have taken this class before will get to have free sewing time (work on a stuffy or pillows). Simply flat stuffies will be made along with little stuffy pillows.

Tuesday - Abstract Cloud Mobile.

Wednesday - Hand embroidery motif that will then be used as a pocket.

Thursday - Tote with pocket.

SUPPLIES TO BRING: A working machine that you will use after camp at home. If you don’t have one you may rent one of ours for $25. 3 spools of thread, light to medium colors (no black). We will supply everything else, but feel free to bring your own tools and fabric if you desire. We have lots of studio fabric and tools. If you buy fabric scissors, buy GOOD ONES ($15).

This is a FREE HANG for anyone who already knows how to use their machine and has projects they want to work on in a fun environment. Bring ALL of your OWN Supplies. We have some fabric for purchase. This is a self led hang. Ms Heather will be there working on projects also, but is available for help, advice and assistance. Make sure your student is self led and motivated to create if you are dropping them off. We do have some patterns and books for inspiration if you have been before and want to make something you have previously made. Come one day or come everyday. You still need to register even though its free, we have limited table space:)

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about this special time! This is Ms. Heather’s LAST sewing class for a while and wants to see all her past students!

At The Art Room, we believe in creating a fun, safe space where creativity can thrive. Our studio is built on kindness, respect, and a shared love of making art.

Students must be able to work respectfully with others of varying ages, share materials, and follow studio expectations. Kindness and respect for peers, teachers, and the studio space are required at all times.

Our camps are not a babysitting service. Students should come prepared and motivated to actively participate in art activities. Our instructors are not able to manage significant or ongoing behavioral or social concerns, and it is not fair to other campers when a large portion of time is spent addressing behavior. Please speak to your child about behavior expectations before sending them to camp.

We are an ECO Conscious Studio! Please do not bring one time use plastic bottles or sugary drinks. Students will have a short break to eat, so please feel free to pack snacks or a light lunch.
